Jazzfest Gronau has a surprise in store: the Donots will be giving a spontaneous concert at the end of the festival on Sunday, May 4th! The punk rock band from Ibbenbüren is considered one of the best live acts in Germany and usually plays at major festivals such as “Rock am Ring”.

The idea was born out of a funny social media gag when a crew member of the band wore a Jazzfest shirt in a post, combined with the question: Spontaneous crazy idea: the Donots at the Jazzfest – the Wacken of the Münsterland?

The Donots responded enthusiastically to the subsequent spontaneous invitation from the Jazzfest and accepted – actually at shorter notice than expected.

As the end of the Jazzfest also coincides with the end of their currently sold-out acoustic tour “Schwert aus Holz” (Sword of Wood), a small but fine joint final concert has now been developed within a few days.

The location for the extremely spontaneous gig is the Turbine music club in the rock’n’popmuseum, with a family-friendly start at 4 pm.
