Under the motto “Jazz in the City – for free and outside”, there will once again be an extensive musical offering in the open city center on the weekend of May 3 and 4 in keeping with popular tradition.

On both days, local retailers will be offering special Jazzfest deals and Sunday in particular will once again attract a large number of visitors as an additional open shopping day from 13:00 – 18:00.

Guests will be entertained on both days by various brass and jazz bands.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. in the city center:

BE Brass Band

Supported by fantastic brass parts, a funky bass line and crazy rhythms, they offer a musical adventure for everyone and transport the New Orleans style into the present day.

Papa Dré Jazzband

The Papa Dré Jazzband is a traditional band, reminiscent of the jazz sound from the glorious years 1925 – 1950 and characterized by fine arrangements and surprising solos.

Het Fietsorkest

Around midday, Het Fietsorkest arrives with its four-metre-long tandem and makes stops at various stations. There, the six musicians perform, for example, a tap dance, an exuberant ballet number or breakneck acrobatic feats.

On Sunday from 1 pm in the city center:

Blueberry Band

The Blueberry Band, inspired by the Blues Brothers and the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s, presents an energetic live show with influences from funk and soul at Theodor-Heuss-Platz.

Mayday Jazzband

At various locations or on the move, you will also come across the Mayday Jazzband, which perfectly combines bold brass sections and entertainment.

Papa Dré Jazzband

Duo Culinare

With two acoustic guitars, saxophone, accordion and two-part vocals, Duo Culinare not only mingle with the crowd, they also mix it up and present jazz, pop, rock, oldies and new hits in acoustic versions.
